Who are RTCA Chaplains?

National standards of the highest quality are set to ensure that RTAC approved Chaplains are persons of highest character, integrity and skills to meet the diversity of need that exist in this global community. Though workers are rarely mentioned in the media, we believe that each is uniquely created by God, and that they are the true heroes of the track because their faithful work keeps not only their horses, but an entire industry running strong.
Each day on the front sides and backstretches of tracks, training/breeding centers and horse farms across this global community chaplains are there in triumph and tragedy to provide Christian service to the entire racing community. They walk through the barns and horse paths, visit jockeys’ rooms and industry group meetings to offer prayer, encouragement and solutions to the spiritual, emotional, material and social/educational needs of racing’s workforce. Coming from virtually all denominations, they respond to a call from their Creator. Walking the extra mile in behalf of their brothers and sisters is not a goal, but a spiritual mandate. Since 1971, they have been horse racing’s Good Samaritans, dedicated to being Christ’s love in action.
